Absolute Radio launches pop-up 1940s station

28 04 2020

Absolute Radio is launching a special pop-up station dedicated entirely to the 1940s, in honour of the 75th anniversary of VE Day, May 8.

The station will be available across the UK for 24 hours, 'offering older generations a comforting trip down memory lane' with music from the likes of Billie Holliday, Doris Day, and Bing Crosby, presented by hosts including Dave Berry, Jason Manford, Claire Sturgess, and Leona Graham. Berry commented 'In throwing this splendid day-long knees-up, we hope to not only provide something for our parents and grandparents across the land, but we can also feel that little bit closer to them at a time when we’re apart'.
